Color Management is an imperfect science, but there's little reason it shouldn't be good enough for you. Pros use the i1 Display Pro (or i1 Pro/i1 Pro 2) religiously on their client's displays. The Spyder4 is basically a work-around design to make its old technology work with newer displays. But I don't think it's a software problem you have, I think it's your instrument.
